Tracking camera/Bird-eye shot/XLS

This shot is using tracking and the shot angle is bird-eye shot and it using the XLS (extreme long shot). It use the wide angle to show the area of the stage within this shot.

The shot is showing the stage and the powerful of the magicers. To show that how famous are the "four horsemen". Using the wide angle, it shows the big stage and the amount of audience. It increases the unbelievable on them.

Medium Close Up Shot

This shot is using the eye-line matching editing. The montage shows that they are looking at the security guide. From the shot between them, we can notice that they are having a communication. After that, they take out a camera from their bag inside and in this take, it is using a close up shot.
The shot angle of these shot are the eye-level and bird-eye. For the security guide, it is using a low angle. Seems the guide is the leader that people need to listen to him.

Walking to the ring

The "tracking" is employed that shooting to the people who are walking to the ring. The selective focus is used on this take. This film contain the black and white. There are using the medium shot for the tracking and the long shot for the last take between the corridor to the ring.

Entrance to the ring

When the camera turns to the entrance to the ring, The wide angle lens is used by shooting on the audience and reporter behind to the ring. When the judge pointing to the fighter for introducing, the camera is using the telephoto shot. The panning is used at the take that with a lot of cameraman and photographers. For the close-up or the medium close-up shots, the effect of it is the atmosphere of the party is increased. It can let the audience of the movie are likely walk in to the place the movie have. It is more reality.

The fight

The camera angle is used in high and eye-level in each shot of fight. The shot types is CU(close up). The close shot can have more intimacy and focus on emotions of the people who are fighting.

End of the fight

The canted angle is used when the judge is walking to the winner. This shot shows the suddenly and surprise. Because of the shot that is in the slow motion, the people is smiling and graceful in that shot. There is no sound effect we can clearly heard, so that we don't know exactly the winner is. However, the shot shows the winner and used due to the strained moment.

Celebration

The tilt is used on the shot that shooting on the cameraman and the photographers. It moves very fast and it catching the moment that the photo is taking. The XCU(extreme close-up) is used at the award of the winner which is a golden belt. The purpose of the XCU is to show the award and the grateful of the people. The worm's eye is used at the winner. It shows the powerful of the winner and the respect to him. The eye-level camera angle is used at the people who are smiling and celebrating for the winner. It shows the emotion of them and how their feeling.

Metropolis

How does Flitz Lang use the devices of mise en scene to develop the characters, themes and narratives at the beginning of Metropolis.

Establishing the themes and context

Location 1
In Metropolis, we can see the workers work in the underground and the people live in the higher place. They queue like a army and walk in the same position.
The workers move like a robot. They queue as a army and walk slowly. Their clothes are the same that black in color. Their life is boring. They work in a same factory in the underground every day in a same period of time, such a prison.
The workers work in a factory which at the underground, it is small. The effect is dark and the light is cool.
The lighting is dark in the low key of light. The music is strong and depressed. It shows the hopeless of the workers life.
The workers life in the underground of Metropolis since the beginning scene that the workers were changing shifts in the tunnel. It is shown that the workers are live in the dark place and with no fresh air and sunshine. I can know that they are poor.

Location 2
In the second location, people are playing in the garden. They are wearing the beautiful clothes with own style and colorful. The people in the garden are the upper class of the Metropolis.
Contrasting with the location 1, the people have more freedom in location 2 and they can move everywhere they want. For the lighting, there is the bright light in location 2 and dark light in location 1. The workers were wearing the uniform which black in color but the upper class were wearing the beautiful clothes. They can have their freedom to love and choose.
Locations are very different since the workers are the lower class of Metropolis and the people in the garden are the upper class of Metropolis. The workers work for the upper class to let them can play as much as they want.

The main protagonists
The main protagonists are the workers in location 1 and the man who is playing in the garden in the location 2. Also I can find the woman at location 2. She is attracting the man who playing in the garden. Because of the lighting, the man's facial expression is clearly shown. Contrast with the man and the workers, their movement were different as freely and mechanically.

Establishing the narrative
There is a script before the movie start. It talks about the world in Metropolis. I think the scene will be develop as the man will find his father and talk about the workers. Finally the upper class will be work as the workers. The location 1 will not be that mechanically because of the man is already been to the factory which the workers work in.

WISH.

My friend introduced a korean movie calls "Wish" to me. The name of movie is the name of the main character. She is a 8 year-old girl who living in a normal family, is studying primary school. Her father works in a factory and her mother works in the shop downstair of their house. They soon to get a new family member. The girl looks cute and she is smart as an adult since her parents are busy. One day, because of her father's mistake, the girl was late for school. She went out to school. It was rainy. A man came out for the umbrella. How kind of her! She gave the umbrella to him. Finally, the man raped on her. She got the most horrible hurt from the man. She cannot poo normally as a normal person. This accident was happen in a real life....

"he took her home, raped her anally, then proceeded to use a plunger on her anal cavity to "get rid of the evidence" - which destroyed her intestinal walls, pulled out the intestines, and destroyed the wall between her anus and her vaginal area." ( From the news of the true accident happened )

How horrible it is...but finally the girl get free. Her classmate take care of her and bully is not available.
The most memorable scene is that the father's colleague said that, 'assume that was an accident either than artificial.' Although we should not think in this way, the idea is nice. We should not always think a problem in the worst way. We must keep moving, so that we need to think positive.

Mise en scene

Costume:
The clothing style of the man was formal. He was wearing suit and leather shoes. I can know that the picture is from England because of the clothing style of the man, also the people behind the foreground man. The people behind were wearing the hat that was England style and they also wearing the suit.

Face:
The man is handsome (haha =P). Because of the sun, he was facing to the other side. His face was serious and he was confident to take a gun. It can show that he is not afraid to take a gun and walk on the street, so that I guess that he is a police.

Position:
The man who was taking a gun is walking on the street at the foreground of the picture. He is walking to the other side of the capture. From his position, I can see that he is used to be walk to the side. Maybe he was going to catch someone or finding somebody.

Setting:
There was a car laying on the street which was not suppose to be, so that I think the film was talking about the accident on the street or the gun fight. The street in the picture was normal except the man with a gun and the laying car.


Class:
Because of the clothing style of the man, I can suggest that he is middle class.

Background:
There was a street with a lots of car and people. Near the pavement of the street, there were a lot of building. It can show that the background is in the city but not the village.

Character:
There is a man in the foreground of the picture. I guess that was the main character. He was taking a gun and walking to the front. I guess he was a police or killer.

Relationship:
I think the man was not belonged to this city since his clothing style is different to the others. Maybe he was ordered to have a mission in this city.

Period in time:
From the costume, car model, building and the hairstyle of the people and the street, I can believe that this movie is shot at 1980s.

Genre:
The street is normal but including some uncommon accident. The man taking a gun and walking on the street. These were not happen in the real life. For conclusion, I think this genre is a action movie.
